For someone watching Connecticut FC’s U17 team, Darian Stanchina may not be the first person to stand out on the pitch, but as a match begins, you’ll soon notice him.
A native of Colchester, Conn., the left-footed midfielder is quick to put his stamp on things through his versatility and leadership, both of which are shining attributes for a young man that can’t get enough of the game.
“It’s always refreshing to get out there. It never gets old,” Stanchina said. “You can be out there for hours practicing and at the end of practice be like, ‘That’s it?’ There’s always more to learn by. It’s a way of escaping from a long day at school, taking tests.”
