With the second week of December here, the fall portion of the US Soccer Development Academy season has officially come to a close for the region's five boys clubs.
Their U-17 and U-19 teams just returned from Lakewood Ranch, Fla., with this year's event playing host to the inaugural Winter Cup. The New England Revolution U-19s, Oakwood U-19s and Seacoast United U-17s all participated in those games, while others were in the traditional showcase format.
With DA games on hold until early March, it offers a chance to reflect on the Winter Cup and Showcase, particularly for the region's clubs and players.
