From a big-picture perspective, the 2019 season reinforced New England's place as the premier region for Division 3 men's soccer.
The national final featured two NESCAC programs for the first time, as Tufts beat Amherst for a championship repeat and fourth title in last six years. Other national titles have returned to the region – look at Babson and Brandeis in the late 1970s and early 1980s, plus Williams in 1995 and Middlebury in 2007 – but we're truly in a golden age for D3 soccer.
To take stock of the year, our final top 10 rankings of the fall are here. Tufts and Amherst continue to set the standard on a national level, but it's worth exploring which other teams turned heads.
