Gianna Mitchell (Springfield, Mass.) enjoyed three outstanding seasons playing for Boston College, but with a year of eligibility still remaining, the opportunity to go play for a perennial national powerhouse was too appealing to turn down.
So, after graduating from BC, she moved on to Florida State for her last year of college soccer.
"After talking with (Florida State head coach) Mark (Krikorian), he had a lot of points that I was looking for," said Mitchell. "He always preaches that if you want to come to Florida State, it’s a professional environment. He’s looking for players that want to play at that next level. That is what I wanted to do at the time. I thought that was something that was really cool. It just felt like a great program for me inside-out."
The decision couldn’t have worked out any better for Mitchell.
