Sean Dedrick remains dependable for Notre Dame in NCAA tournament

As a junior, Sean Dedrick found himself in an unusual spot. With Notre Dame eliminated in the NCAA tournament's second round, he returned home to Wilton, Conn., for Thanksgiving.

But this go-around, just like his freshman and sophomore seasons, the right back will spend the holiday in South Bend, Ind., preparing for the Fighting Irish's third-round game vs. Virginia on Sunday.

Not having Thanksgiving with his family comes with drawbacks, but it’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make.

“I’d rather be here,” Dedrick said. “There are so many teams that are left watching the games on TV.”
