Juliana Garcia (New Haven, Conn.) has aspirations to play professional soccer.
When the Class of 2023 attacking midfielder, who plays for Oakwood Soccer Club and Sacred Heart Academy, expressed those aspirations to the coaching staff at Northeastern University, she received the exact feedback that she wanted to hear.
"Both coaches I talked to at NU took me seriously about that," said Garcia. "We talked about (Northeastern alum and defender) Mikenna McManus and her journey. She is now with the Chicago Red Stars. That was very important for me in making a (college) decision."
Last week, Garcia committed to Northeastern to play for head coach and former Clemson and professional goalkeeper Ashley Phillips.
