The annual Lions Twin State Soccer Cup will be held on Saturday, July 16 at Hanover High School in New Hampshire.

There will be a boys game (1 p.m.) and a girls game (4 p.m.), and both matchups will feature top high school seniors from New Hampshire against top high school seniors from Vermont. To be selected for the prestigious game, players had to try-out.

The money raised from the games is divided evenly between the two states and goes to fund a variety of projects important to those states. For Vermont, the funds raised go to the Austine Green Mountain Lions Camp for hearing impaired children. For New Hampshire, the funds go to the Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation.

The boys game began in 1975 and the first girls game was played in 1984. Last year, Vermont won the girls game, 3-2, and Vermont won the boys game, 4-1. The contests were not played in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
