The New England Revolution have signed their fifth-ever Homegrown Player.
Nicolas Firmino, previously on the club's U-19 Development Academy, was announced as the team's latest signing on Tuesday afternoon. A Somerville, Mass., resident, Firmino has Brazilian roots and previously played for FC Blazers before joining the Revs' U-14 team.
Since, the attacking midfielder has progressed through the youth ranks and scored 35 goals in more than 90 games. He was widely regarded as the top prospect on New England's U-19 team.
