Loomis Chaffee Class of 2022 forward Oliver Martin made history for the Vermont Green Football Club on Tuesday.
Vermont Green FC announced it has signed the Michigan-commit Martin as the first player in club history. The signing is pending league and federation approval.
The move is also symbolic for another major reason. It will allow Martin, a native of Williston, Vt., the opportunity to play pre-professional competitive soccer this spring and summer in his home state.
Vermont Green FC was officially announced as a USL League Two club on Oct. 12, 2021, and will play home games at the University of Vermont’s Virtue Field.
