Since taking over UMass Lowell women’s soccer in 2018, first as interim head coach and then on an official basis for 2019, Mira Novak has sought to increase the team’s depth.

The River Hawks (1-1-1) seem to be heading in the right direction, with their efforts on full display in Sunday’s 3-0 win over in-state rival UMass.

UMass Lowell played 21 players throughout the match, with only sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Burgess (Mendon, Mass.) going the full 90 minutes in what amounted to her first career shutout.
