A degree of normalcy returned to New England club soccer last weekend, with FC Stars and Scorpions SC traveling to Sanford, Fla., for the Elite Clubs National League’s annual recruiting event.
A combined seven teams from those two Massachusetts-based clubs played from Jan. 8-10, getting high-level games and exposure before college coaches.
The two-month pause for youth sports in Connecticut meant that Connecticut FC and FSA FC couldn’t attend, but it was nonetheless a valuable opportunity for those who trekked south for warmer weather and ECNL tests.
