The Fall 2020 high school soccer season in Connecticut will be unlike any other, as the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the schedule entirely.
Games are set to begin Oct. 1 and must be wrapped up by Nov. 7, then postseason play will likely be regionalized instead of following the traditional Class LL through Class S format. Plus, coaches are wondering if games will indeed get underway and what will happen if there's a spike in cases.
Nonetheless, we're looking ahead to the CIAC season with our Preseason Best XI (plus a bench) and top teams around the state. Like every year, Connecticut is home to a deep, talented high school scene that prompts several interesting storylines.
Which teams and players could turn heads? We'll soon find out.
