Analysis: 3 areas that drove New Hampshire back to the Sweet 16

In recent years, the University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team has made no secret of its big-picture plan to reach a College Cup.

And now the Wildcats (17-1-2, 7-0-1 America East) are two steps away from accomplishing that, traveling cross-country to face Pac-12 champions Oregon State on Sunday (9 pm ET) in the Sweet 16. They even flew on the New England Patriots’ plane, an added treat for competing past Thanksgiving.

Ahead of what’s among the biggest games in program history, New England Soccer Journal connected with UNH head coach Marc Hubbard to learn more about their climb up the Division 1 ranks.

Here are three key areas that have sparked UNH forward, having earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and then thumping traditional ACC powerhouse North Carolina 4-1 last weekend to keep dancing.
