As cold weather and snow settles in, we're reflecting on what the 2020 season meant – and represented – for teams across the region. There were serious doubts during the summer that games would even occur, with players and coaches alike nervous after seeing Spring 2020 sports (like lacrosse and baseball) cancelled last March. The COVID-19 pandemic has upended daily life, and nobody knew for certain what awaited.
But the vast majority of teams across New England got out there (even if starts were delayed), and that’s worth celebrating. Given that, here’s our rundown of the top storylines that shaped New England high school soccer in 2020.
