Monday included a rush of college soccer-related news of the negative variety as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic: UMass Boston and Bowdoin, two Division III schools in New England, won’t have fall sports in 2020.
While somber developments, there were also encouraging signs from the Division I ranks when the Patriot League announced precautions for the impending season.
The news will affect Boston University and Holy Cross, plus dozens of players across a conference that spans from Massachusetts and New York to Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
