The 2022 Women’s Premier Soccer League season is underway.
Last Saturday, the only two New England teams in the league opened up the campaign against each other, and it was VT Fusion with a 3-0 victory over the Rhode Island Rogues.
Established in 1998, the WPSL is the longest active women’s soccer league in the United States. The league aims to provide the highest level of developmental opportunities for amateur players, and team rosters consist of college players, post-collegiate players, international players, and also standout prep players. Nearly 70% of WPSL players are current student-athletes at all college division levels.
Teams will play an eight-game regular season that will finish-up in early-July.
