In a different world, Colby Quinones (Bedford, N.H.) would be suiting up for Providence College next fall.
The right back would likely begin a standout career with the Big East program, reinforcing why he’s become a highly-rated prospect for the New England Revolution. He's one of the region’s top Class of 2021 players, after all.
But upon getting a taste of professional soccer during the 2020 USL League One season, Quinones decided to bypass college soccer and sign directly with Revolution II. The deal was announced Nov. 30 after the 17-year-old played in 14 of 16 games during the club’s inaugural season, continuing his progression since joining the Revolution’s nascent residency academy program.
