The 2022 college soccer season is still nearly six months away, but New England programs are using this spring to stay polished and get their styles of play and principles in order before the real deal returns in the fall.

To that point, Division 1 men’s programs across New England have put together short spring schedules to stay sharp over the next couple months. It’s a chance to experience game situations and showcase growth since the 2021 season ended.

Last month, New England Soccer Journal reported that six men’s college soccer programs in Connecticut, from Division 1 or 2, will compete for state bragging rights in the inaugural Connecticut Spring College Cup. That competition, which will feature Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State, New Haven and Post, will be held in March and April.

Outside of that, some programs have a handful of matches scheduled over the next seven weeks, and they hopefully will not be impacted by inclement weather.
