URI firing on all cylinders before NCAA tournament opener

By Nick FrazierNovember 19, 2019

URI Men's Soccer vs Fairfield URI, Kingston, RI; August 30. (c) Mike Scott 2019.

The University of Rhode Island men’s soccer team has been here before.

Last year, the Rams (14-3-3) won the Atlantic 10 championship to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. It looked like they’d win their first-round game, too, but the University of Connecticut scored twice in the final 15 minutes to force overtime and steal a 4-3 victory.

Most of the starting XI from that match is back, and the wounds are still somewhat fresh.
