Editor’s note: This story appears in the November-December issue of New England Soccer Journal.

With how she handles herself on and off the field, you’d never quite know that New Hampshire women’s soccer defender Alivia Kelly (Pembroke, Mass.) is only a sophomore.

Wildcats’ head coach Steve Welham hits that point home when referencing their America East opener from the 2021 campaign, a 2-0 loss at Hartford in mid-September.

There the former Thayer Academy and Scorpions SC ECNL standout was, encouraging her teammates that brighter days weren’t far off.
