For the first time since 2017 and the fifth time in program history, UMass men’s soccer is heading to the NCAA tournament.
The Minutemen (7-1-3) earned an at-large bid during Monday’s selection show, setting up a second-round match May 2 (1 pm ET) against Big Ten side Penn State. The NCAA tournament is being held in Cary, North Carolina to help health and safety measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
To reach this stage, a 3-3 draw last Saturday at ACC side Virginia Tech proved pivotal, boosting their odds in the committee’s eyes.
