Top five: Who are the premier men’s Division 2 defenders in New England?

Being a defender can sometimes be a thankless job.

You don’t often get the glory of scoring goals, and you don’t often receive the same prestige that a goalkeeper gets for making a highlight-reel save. 

But make no mistake about it, talented and trustworthy backs are a necessity for a winning soccer team with designs on a championship run.

Here are five men’s New England Division 2 defenders who are performing their duties at an exceptional level this fall.
