When it comes to New England connections, Todd Beane's roots touch several places.
He was born in Winchester, Mass., only to spend his teenage years in Simsbury, Conn. He played soccer at Dartmouth, while most of his family went to the University of New Hampshire. He has also taught at the Salisbury School, the prep school in northwestern Connecticut.
But Beane's place in the world's game has taken him to Barcelona, Spain as founder and CEO of the TOVO Institute.
"We're a New England family," Beane said. "I'm just the one that took off and ventured the world, didn't make it back."
