Longtime Boston College men’s soccer coach Ed Kelly is retiring, multiple sources have confirmed to New England Soccer Journal.

Kelly recently concluded his 32nd year as head coach of the Eagles, and he'll finish with an overall record of 289-239-67. The native of Dublin, Ireland, first took the job in 1988 after having spent three seasons as the Seton Hall head coach.

A source close to the situation said Kelly has been away from the team for "personal reasons," and associate head coach Bob Thompson has been serving as an interim head coach for the ACC program.
