Soccer Confidential: Julian Gressel’s future could lend to overseas move

Tata Martino might not be the only Atlanta United departure once the 2018 Major League Soccer season comes to a close. Martino is weighing a two-year contract renewal, but the offer might have come too late to keep him from taking a national team position with Argentina or Mexico.

Meanwhile, Atlanta United’s key players will also likely have opportunities to consider after what could be a record-breaking season. Former Providence College star Julian Gressel could be among the most likely to move on after emerging as one of the best wingers in MLS.
