Skill of the Month: Shoulder Complex Program: Part 3 (Scapula Stabilization)

By Phil TaitOctober 1, 2017

We’ve teamed up with Sports Rehabilitation Unlimited of Middleton, Mass., to showcase a Shoulder Complex Program (Rotator Cuff Strengthening, Push Ups and Scapula Stabilization).

The exercises are demonstrated by 1 on 1 coach Zach Rowell (UMass-Lowell goalkeeper). These exercises are tailored toward goalkeepers (high school upwards) but also can be adapted for outfield players.

The video we’ve showcased this month is focused upon Scapula Stabilization:

▸ Front Plank elbows extended (Karate Kid)

▸ Alternating Unilateral Y’s & T’s

▸ Side plank on elbow (high & low ball toss)
