Skill of the Month: Shoulder Complex Program Part 2 (Push Ups)

By Phil TaitSeptember 1, 2017

We’ve teamed up with Sports Rehabilitation Unlimited of Middleton, Mass., to showcase a Shoulder Complex Program (Rotator Cuff Strengthening, Push Ups and Scapula Stabilization).

The exercises are demonstrated by 1 on 1 coach Zach Rowell (UMass-Lowell goalkeeper). These exercises are tailored toward goalkeepers (high school and upward) but also can be adapted for outfield players. The video we’ve showcased this month is focused on push-up variations:

  • Standing (single arm with ball on post)
  • Prone (alternating ball roll)
  • 3 point (two balls: sizes 4 and 5)
