Given his family's extensive roots in the game, Simon Becher knew he would find his way onto the soccer field.
"It wasn’t a question of what sports we were going to play," Becher said. "It was always soccer."
The second youngest of five siblings, Becher was born in Kansas to Mike and Mary, who both played collegiately at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. His uncle, Bill, is the technical advisor for Penn FC of the United Soccer League, and is a member of the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame, just like his grandfather, also named Bill.
