Since joining the New England Revolution Academy, Eliot Jones has already appeared in five youth national team camps. The goalkeeper will soon add a sixth to his resume after being called into U.S. U-16 camp, held Sept. 12-19 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Jones, from New Britain, Conn., just began his fourth season with the Revs, having amassed nearly 50 appearances. While the bulk of Jones' time should come with the U-17s this year, Bryan Scales, director of youth development, said time with the U-19s could follow suit.
This past summer, the 15-year-old trained extensively with the first team and was thrown right into the thick of head coach Brad Friedel's sessions. He also trained with the first team during prior coach Jay Heaps' tenure, making him one of the premier prospects in New England's development pipeline.
