Recruiting: Why three Class of 2022 South Kent standouts committed to Marshall

The South Kent School boys soccer program has produced dozens of Division 1 college players over the past 15 years.

But this month, the Cardinals achieved a new and quite impressive milestone. South Kent had three players from the same class commit to the same D1 college program. And that program just happens to be a powerhouse that won the 2020 national championship.

Class of 2022 defenders Abdul Barrie Jr. (Milton, Mass.) and Ethan Prescott (Freeport, Maine), and forward Matthew Bell have all committed to take their talents to Marshall University. 

It's quite a recruiting score for Marshall, as that trio of players helped lead South Kent to its second straight NEPSAC Class B championship last fall. So, how exactly did three premier standouts from South Kent end up deciding on a college in Huntington, W.Va.?
