At 6-foot-4, and as the son of a former NFL linebacker, it wouldn’t have been surprising if Charlie Johnson (Wayland, Mass.) chose the route of playing American football.
His father, Ted Johnson, played 10 years with the New England Patriots and helped the Pats win three Super Bowls.
But it's always been the other kind of football, the global sport, the one actually played with your feet that has served as Charlie's competitive passion.
"I was about four-years-old when I started playing (soccer) and I just never stopped playing," said Charlie. "It’s always been my favorite sport."
