In one of New England's higher-profile Class of 2022 recruiting updates, New York Soccer Club forward Lumi Kostmayer (Southbury, Conn.) has verbally committed to Stanford, the defending Division I national champions.

Kostmayer used to play for Oakwood, though switched Girls Academy League clubs last year. She’s also a U.S. youth international, joining the U-16s for international friendlies in February just before the COVID-19 pandemic upended global sports.

When connecting with New England Soccer Journal to discuss her decision, Kostmayer described Stanford as her No. 1 option from when she was a little kid.
