Recruiting: Beachside defender Landon Cartwright commits to Providence

Landon Cartwright (Greenwich, Conn.), when discussing his college soccer future, swells with excitement.

The reason? The Beachside U-19 MLS NEXT defender recently verbally committed to Providence College's Class of 2022, setting up a four-year career at the Big East program.

The Friars, led by head coach Craig Stewart, were a Final Four squad in 2014 and routinely compete for an NCAA tournament spot, either via automatic or at-large means.
