Most teams in New England have played five games as mid-September rolls around, providing a large enough sample size to assess how 2019 could go.

From that, New England Soccer Journal has its first power rankings of the region's Division 1 teams. We've ranked them No. 1 through No. 22, and also included where each program placed in our preseason coaches poll.

The biggest movers from preseason to now are UMass, Yale, Merrimack and Hartford. Hot starts will do that for you, as we've taken in account form, quality and stature of the program.

To account for the past week's games, we've also handed out our Player of the Week Awards. See who took home the Offensive, Defensive and Rookie nods.
