A fourth senior from Oakwood’s U-19 Development Academy team has verbally committed, as midfielder Zach Sauer (Hebron, Conn.) announced his pledge to Northeastern earlier this week for its Class of 2020.
In an interview with New England Soccer Journal, Sauer, 16, made clear that the CAA program was his No. 1 choice. It’s been that way, Sauer said, ever since assistant coach Cameron Omsberg reached out to him after the Summer Showcase this past June in California.
“They really welcomed me with open arms on my visit,” Sauer said. “I clicked right away with coach [Chris] Gbandi.”
