One month after forward Julia Motuzick (Glastonbury, Conn.) was called into a U.S. U-17 women’s national team virtual camp, Oakwood SC has another player on the federation’s radar screen.

Center back Shea Boyle (Manchester, Conn.) was recently tabbed for a U.S. U-16 women’s national team virtual camp, offering the Class of 2024 defender a taste of international-level soccer.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. Soccer hasn’t held in-person training camps for youth national teams in over a year. Their virtual replacements resemble educational webinars rather than convocations in sun-filled Florida or California locales, a workaround prompted by the ongoing public-health challenges.
