New England's representatives in the 2020 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup just grew by one, as Newtown Pride FC have booked a spot in America's oldest soccer competition.

Newtown, part of the Connecticut Soccer League, qualified after winning the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Amateur Cup over the weekend, downing Horizon FC, 4-0. The game took pace in River Grove, Ill., a suburb outside of Chicago.

It's the second straight year that the Amateur Cup champions booked an Open Cup spot, after Bavarian SC captured the Fritz Marth Trophy to punch their ticket a season ago.
