The youth landscape in New England continues to change, with Friday marking the announcement that Major League Soccer and US Youth Soccer have formed a strategic partnership that’s geared towards the grassroots and competitive levels.
According to an MLSsoccer.com story, the partnership with all 55 state associations will last at least through 2026 and is geared towards five key areas: scouting, competition, education, data and marketing. Though the biggest area of focus is scouting, with the two entities combining to have over three million boys and girls soccer players.
The announcement comes after MLS announced its new academy league this past Wednesday, one that includes eight total clubs from New England.
