Windham (N.H.) High School was only established in 2009, and the Jaguars only moved up to Division I three years ago. Those two facts provide context around how much ground Windham must make up in the broader New Hampshire soccer scene, though the program’s well on its way.
No. 2 Windham knocked off No. 1 Winnacunnet, 3-0, last Saturday to lift its first D-I title, following in the footsteps of two prior Division II state championships (won in 2012, 2013). They also made a D-II final in 2017.
Taking their brief history into account, head coach Mike Hachey knows how important this was for the Jaguars, who finished with a near-perfect 11-0-1 record.
