With qualifiers in the book, the New England Revolution Academy U-17 team's spot in the Generation adidas Cup is set.
Held in Frisco, Texas, the international event will bring together 22 MLS clubs and 17 international clubs, all drawn into either the Champions Division or Premier Division.
The Revs qualified into the latter – essentially what's the second tier – and will compete in Group D, prompting games against Group C teams. That means shorter matches are set against Icelandic side UMF Fjolnir (April 13), Vancouver Whitecaps (April 14), Columbus Crew SC (April 14), Sporting KC (April 16) and Mexican side CF Monterrey (April 17). Playoff matches are set for April 18 and April 20.
Patrick Ouckama, head coach of the U-17s, said squad rotation will be at premium at the GA Cup, and that the 2018-19 season presents few better opportunities to test his team.
