WORCESTER, Mass. -- James Proctor is entering his 23rd season as the head coach of the Worcester Academy boys soccer team.
In those two-plus decades, he’s watched his squads deliver some truly phenomenal soccer. There have been multiple seasons where WA was right up there with the nation’s top prep school programs.
At the top of the list of memorable seasons, Proctor will point to his NEPSAC Class A championship-winning side in 2019. That was when the Hilltoppers went 20-1-1 and defeated Milton Academy for the crown, one year before the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the 2020 prep season.
