Ian Wheeler took over as Thayer Academy’s head boys soccer coach about two weeks into the 2022 season.
In a perennially challenging league like the NEPSAC’s Independent School League, an in-season coaching change can make it difficult for a program to hit its stride and find major success.
By Wheeler’s own admission, last fall was a "rebuilding year" for Thayer, which finished with a record of 4-14 (2-13 ISL). As Wheeler looks ahead to a 2023 season that kicks-off in less than seven months, he says his program is optimistic for the future.
