The road to recovery is a long one.
Taft senior midfielder Patrick Gallagher knows this all too well.
After an impactful sophomore year for the Rhinos, Gallagher tore his ACL in the 2022 preseason and was sidelined for his entire junior season. But that did not stop Gallagher from making a sizable impact and impression on his team.
"He was awesome for us that whole junior year as someone on the bench," Taft head coach Ozzie Parente said. "He was present at every moment that he possibly could be, trying to do his best to motivate the guys. And so, by the end of that season, he was voted to be a captain unanimously. I think that a kid who didn't even put on a jersey was looked at by his peers in that way was pretty special."
