LANCASTER, Mass. -- The temperature was in the mid-30s and the wind was gusting, but Brooks boys soccer head coach Willie Waters happily accepted having a cooler of water dumped on his head.
It was a November celebration he hadn’t really been expecting.
But on the final day of the 2022 NEPSAC season, Waters’ third-seeded Brooks squad defeated top-seeded Williston Northampton, 2-1, to win the Class B championship on Sunday at the FC Stars Complex.
It’s the program’s first New England title since 2017.
