We haven’t yet reached the halfway point of April, but it's already been an eventful month for a pair of NEFC standouts.
Midfielder Kendall Bodak (Monson, Mass.) is currently competing at the U.S. Under-16 Women’s Youth National Team’s 23-player training camp at the Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Ore. She’s the only New England player at the camp, which began last Friday and will wrap-up next Monday. The camp is being led by head coach and former professional player Katie Schoepfer, who joined U.S. Soccer after serving as technical director at South Shore Select in Hingham, Mass., which was the most recent stop in a seven-year stint coaching at Massachusetts clubs.
Meanwhile, forward Nicollette Kiorpes (Worcester, Mass.) was one of 20 players selected by head coach Natalia Astrain to the U.S. Under-17 Women’s Youth National Team to represent the USA at the 2022 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship, set for April 23-May 8 in the Dominican Republic. Kiorpes was the only New England player chosen to the roster.
Here’s more on the two NEFC stars.
