Providence returns to NCAA tournament, to host first-round game

It's not quite relief, but the emotion surrounding the Providence College men’s soccer team resembles something similar to that.

After a two-year drought, the Friars (14-6) are back in the NCAA tournament and will host NJIT on Thursday in the first round. They received an at-large bid after falling to Georgetown in the Big East championship game over the weekend, while the Highlanders (10-4-4) earned a spot after winning the Atlantic Sun tournament.

The pulse of the group speaks to the standard head coach Craig Stewart has instilled, when they made the Final Four in 2014 and Elite Eight in 2016.
