The New England Revolution Academy’s U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams closed out the MLS NEXT fall season at MLS NEXT Fest in Indio, Calif., where they competed alongside 300 of the top youth teams across the United States and Canada from Dec. 2-8.
Leading the way was the U-19s, who went unbeaten at the tournament, beginning their run with a 1-1 draw vs. Phoenix Rising FC.
Malik Akin scored in the 78th minute to secure the result for his team. Gianluca Armellino (Plainville, Mass.) notched a brace and Tyler Flowers (Sharon, Mass.) scored with a rocket from 25 yards out in the U-19's 3-2 victory over the Michigan Wolves.
