Men’s college soccer: 5 storylines to track around New England

When each college soccer season unfolds, it's easy to get bogged down in the minutiae and daily updates. And don't get us wrong – that's all important. Injuries can entirely alter the course of a team's season and a single result can have the same impact.

But sometimes it's also necessary to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, to evaluate things beyond New England.

In other words, how do local teams stack up when looking at the national scene? Do their accomplishments, individual or collective, hold water against the best around?

We sought to answer those questions with five storylines that are leading New England's college soccer landscape. Listed in no particular order, here's what you might be missing across Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3:
