The U.S. men’s national team announced its 23-man roster for the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup on Thursday morning, and two players with New England connections are poised to play prominent roles.
New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner and Atlanta United center back Miles Robinson (Arlington, Mass.) were both called in by head coach Gregg Berhalter, and now they’ll help the USMNT chase a title at the biannual regional tournament. Nineteen of the players feature in Major League Soccer.
Turner played at Fairfield University from 2012-15 and has been the Revolution’s starter for the past three seasons. Robinson developed locally with the Boston Bolts before playing at Syracuse University for two seasons, then turned pro in 2017.
