There were only a few New England natives playing college soccer this fall, but a towering defender from Massachusetts left a strong mark at Coastal Carolina.
Junior center back Marcelo Lage (Middleton, Mass.) stood out for the Chanticleers in Sun Belt conference play in his second year with the team after spending his freshman season at George Washington.
Before joining the Division I ranks, he won Independent School League and NEPSAC Class B titles with Brooks. He also played in the Development Academy, emerging as a top defender in the region.
To learn more about Lage’s time in South Carolina, we caught up with him ahead of the Sun Belt tournament.
